East Coast Again - 11/26/11

Hey Everybody,

You are probably wondering why I am on on Saturday, but do not worry I am not breaking any rules, and everything is going good. I get to write you today because we found out that we are staying in Tuesday also. So next week we stay locked up in the apartment from Sunday at five tell Friday morning at ten. should be fun! haha pray that I can keep my mind please. All will be well so do not worry about me at all.

So you guessed right I am staying in East Coast Again, there is something yet for me to do in this area, that I do not know of as yet. I Hope I can find that one out soon. We are working with a lot of good people so I am really excited about the work this next transfer. My companion is Elder Ward, again. It should be good I have already seen him grow so much.

I attached some Pictures. One is of our great Thanksgiving feast. One of a spider we had in our apartment. The last one is us cooking some nice food at a members house. Oh I forgot to mention that I got your Christmas presents, haha Sister Sappington wasn't going to give them to me but I kinda need them for this next week so I took them haha

Elder Jeppson e-mailed me and said something about Brother Coburn? Is everything ok there?

Well all is well here, just mostly letting you know of our situation this next week. Love you all Keep up the good work, always try to spread the Gospel, even if it is just by doing a good deed everyday.

staying in for a few days, just for safety precautions. Also it is transfer
week. So if I stay in Guyana you wont get an e mail tell Tuesday, but if I
get Shipped out you shoul get one Monday. I hope that is clear haha or at
least understandable. Also I am Getting all of your mails. Thank you all so
much for them.

So for thanksgiving we are going to have a feast or at least some good food
at one of the senior couples house it should be fun! Well my mind just went
blank this e mail shop is really really hot and I cannot think. haha Things
are still going good here, the work is the most enjoyablest above all. We
find a lot of people to teach. We found a great Family, well kind of they
are not married yet bet they have kids. People just do not like to get
married here for some reason.

I Hope next Transfer Brings forth lots more oppertunities to serve the
people. I hope I can be with a companion I can really learn a lot from. I
love you all.. and I am sorry for this pathetic e mail. but I do love each
and every one of you.

"Failure" and Success - 11/14/11

Dear family,

Well the bad news is that Nazeema was not able to be baptized this week. I
hope that she will be able to be baptized before I leave the area, that
would be really sweet. Oh I bought my self a Christmas present so dont
worry about that. I decided that I needed a mini quad so that is what I got
for Christmas. I can order anything from the office so dont worry about
garments or anything! We do go to the office sometimes but never for
dinner. We just have to cook everything ourselves, I hope I get a companion
who knows how to cook haha Well we had a pretty good week for some reason
though we had a hard time getting new investigators. That made it pretty
hard, ha but we do need to know how failure feels so when we find success
we can feel that joy and happiness that comes from it. So this week when we
put a little more trust in the Lord and find those sweet new people we will
be even more happy and grateful for them. Our area is not directly in
Georgetown but it is very highly populated, which makess it good
formissionary work. My computer is kind of lame today, so I am sorry for
all the weirdness. Well how is Driggs is any one married? Is the truck
still there? How is the new main street affecting business? Well I hope
Grandpa Hartshorn is ok. I hope all is well there. Please keep me in your
prayers, and thank you for your support. You are all the best.

Free Beef - 11/07/11

Hello Everyone,

This week was pretty darn Crazy. We had a little short zone conferance
thing with President Gamiette. It was great The spirit that man has is
incredible we felt motivated and inspired to go out and draw people
torwards Christ. At the end of the meeting we soon relized that President
and his assistance would all be working with companionships through out the
zone that day. Can you guess who President decided to go with? Yep we were
the lucky ones! It was a great Experience! Our first lesson kind of scared
me a little bit. we went to teach a recent convert who is a sixteen year
old girl. When we first started teaching it was all good her dad was there
and everything seemed to be going good. but of course the dad left, and us
being so nervous kept teaching, well we can just say President soon put an
end to that. it was so funny how the only time something like that would
happen is when President was with us. The rest of the day went pretty well
though. I really learned a ton from him. He was able to connect to the
people so well. He said we did a good job so I guess we passed we are still
here haha.

The next day we were teaching this guy out by the road, sometimes that is
the best teaching environment we can find, but this crazy drunk guy comes
flying by on his bike and flies off the bridge into the trench. It was
hilarious some of the things you seee here is just ridiculous. Also it is a
Muslim holiday, where they sacrifice cows and rams and what not. It is a
great holiday because we might get to get free beef! haha they keep half of
the meat and give the other half away to people.

Well thank you so much for all the e mails and letters they mean a lot to
me. Everything is good here and it is looking like Nazeema will finally be
getting baptized this week so that is what we are looking forward to this
week.

Love you all,

Love from Guyana - 10/31/11

Hey everybody!

I am sending some letters today so watch out for them coming soon.

This week was really good we worked hard and the Lord really blessed us. It
is crazy the miracles that you can see the Lord giving you in your life.
Every time we were faced with a trial, like not being able to catch a bus.
we would just press on and begin to walk even if the appointment is twenty
miles away. And as soon as we would put forth that little bit of effort and
show him that we are willing to work for it. The Lord would provide a way
for us if it was through a bus or one of the two members who has a car
would pick us up, he would provide that way for us. So one thing I learned
is that Heavenly Father is so willing and wanting to bless us as long as we
call out for him, and then put forth that little bit of effort. Ah!! I love
being a missionary I just feel sooo blessed.

Elder Ward and I are really starting to do great and are working really
well together, it is crazy to see how much he has grown in his time here. I
hope that I have continued to grow too. haha I really miss being the one
getting trained it was nice, at the same time I think that this is more fun
and interesting, I have learned so much that in no other way I could of
learned.

That is so crazy that you already have the General Conference Issue we will
get one soon. We do get Leihonas here. I really miss hearing from Dad and
Nathan It would be great to here maybe some experiences they had on their
missions wink wink. haha

Well I am not really sure what else to say things are really going well
here and I cannot believe that it is Halloween. Hope everything is still
going good there has there been any changes to the lawn, house, vehicles,
etc... Love you all!!! Oh and Hannah you better get rid of that Book of
Mormon and change someones life.

Football, American Football - 10/17/11

Good Afternoon Everybody,

This week has been a pretty good one. Elder Ward got a little sick so we had
to come in early two days. It was not good. We were unable to reach our
goals that was the sad part about the week, It is funny how little things
like that make you feel bad when you are on your mission.

That is way cool that Tate and Tavner got their calls to serve, Oh man they
are going to love it. It sounds like some adventurous places. And way
exciting. Tell them I said congratulations

Well we got transfer calls, and I am training Elder Ward again. With this
two transfer training program I kind of figured that is what would happen. I
am looking forward to it East Coast has some really prepared people in it,
but at the same time will I ever get out! haha

Today we played Football, Yes American Football. It was sweet!! even though
I am dead tired now. It is good exercise, and heaps of fun. I am still
losing wait I think. I feel good either way. I do have some walking legs now
so those Deer and Elk better watch out when I get back. haha

Well I am loving my mission, learning more then I could of imagined.
President Gamiette wrote me a e mail, so that made me feel good. I am kind
of scared for next transfer though... his e mail was all about pushing our
selves, and how much we learn when we are in hard situations. He is one
inspired man.

Ill talk to you next week love you all, thank you for you letters and
support. I feel so lucky and blessed to have such good support from you all.

Love Elder Hartshorn

P.S. This Gospel means everything to me. I love serving the Lord and I know
without him I am nothing. NOTHING. I know now why I had a hard time at
school and focusing, it was because i did not put my trust in the Lord but
tried to do everything my self. When life get hard or trails come put your
burdens on the Lord, and show your faith by knowing that he will help you. I
know he will. He loves you, you are his covenant people.

Wonder Fullest - 10/10/11

Dear Family,

I am sorry I have not been to good at writing letters, I hope that E mails count Haha.

We had a pretty good, are biggest problem right now is finding people that are married. I do not understand why everyone down here thinks it is ok to live with someone and not be married. It is seriously killing us! haha There is absolutely no change in the weather. That is why it is so weird to think that you had snow!! ah I would love it if it snowed here... The people would probably die though.

Well another transfer has come and gone already, next week we will find out what the Lord has in store for me next transfer. It seems like he likes to try me so we will have to see what kind of adventure he wants to put me on now. I hope a hard one, haha I love pushing my self behold my limits now. I guess that is what President has taught me. He is truly an inspired person, I cannot wait to hear from him this week.

Well time is going by just way to fast, in no time at all I will be talking with you on the phone. I love you all keep the Lord close to you in all that you do, and you will be able to make mountains move, because you are all the most wonder fullest family ever.
