Love from Guyana - 10/31/11

Hey everybody!

I am sending some letters today so watch out for them coming soon.

This week was really good we worked hard and the Lord really blessed us. It
is crazy the miracles that you can see the Lord giving you in your life.
Every time we were faced with a trial, like not being able to catch a bus.
we would just press on and begin to walk even if the appointment is twenty
miles away. And as soon as we would put forth that little bit of effort and
show him that we are willing to work for it. The Lord would provide a way
for us if it was through a bus or one of the two members who has a car
would pick us up, he would provide that way for us. So one thing I learned
is that Heavenly Father is so willing and wanting to bless us as long as we
call out for him, and then put forth that little bit of effort. Ah!! I love
being a missionary I just feel sooo blessed.

Elder Ward and I are really starting to do great and are working really
well together, it is crazy to see how much he has grown in his time here. I
hope that I have continued to grow too. haha I really miss being the one
getting trained it was nice, at the same time I think that this is more fun
and interesting, I have learned so much that in no other way I could of
learned.

That is so crazy that you already have the General Conference Issue we will
get one soon. We do get Leihonas here. I really miss hearing from Dad and
Nathan It would be great to here maybe some experiences they had on their
missions wink wink. haha

Well I am not really sure what else to say things are really going well
here and I cannot believe that it is Halloween. Hope everything is still
going good there has there been any changes to the lawn, house, vehicles,
etc... Love you all!!! Oh and Hannah you better get rid of that Book of
Mormon and change someones life.

Football, American Football - 10/17/11

Good Afternoon Everybody,

This week has been a pretty good one. Elder Ward got a little sick so we had
to come in early two days. It was not good. We were unable to reach our
goals that was the sad part about the week, It is funny how little things
like that make you feel bad when you are on your mission.

That is way cool that Tate and Tavner got their calls to serve, Oh man they
are going to love it. It sounds like some adventurous places. And way
exciting. Tell them I said congratulations

Well we got transfer calls, and I am training Elder Ward again. With this
two transfer training program I kind of figured that is what would happen. I
am looking forward to it East Coast has some really prepared people in it,
but at the same time will I ever get out! haha

Today we played Football, Yes American Football. It was sweet!! even though
I am dead tired now. It is good exercise, and heaps of fun. I am still
losing wait I think. I feel good either way. I do have some walking legs now
so those Deer and Elk better watch out when I get back. haha

Well I am loving my mission, learning more then I could of imagined.
President Gamiette wrote me a e mail, so that made me feel good. I am kind
of scared for next transfer though... his e mail was all about pushing our
selves, and how much we learn when we are in hard situations. He is one
inspired man.

Ill talk to you next week love you all, thank you for you letters and
support. I feel so lucky and blessed to have such good support from you all.

P.S. This Gospel means everything to me. I love serving the Lord and I know
without him I am nothing. NOTHING. I know now why I had a hard time at
school and focusing, it was because i did not put my trust in the Lord but
tried to do everything my self. When life get hard or trails come put your
burdens on the Lord, and show your faith by knowing that he will help you. I
know he will. He loves you, you are his covenant people.

Wonder Fullest - 10/10/11

Dear Family,

I am sorry I have not been to good at writing letters, I hope that E mails count Haha.

We had a pretty good, are biggest problem right now is finding people that are married. I do not understand why everyone down here thinks it is ok to live with someone and not be married. It is seriously killing us! haha There is absolutely no change in the weather. That is why it is so weird to think that you had snow!! ah I would love it if it snowed here... The people would probably die though.

Well another transfer has come and gone already, next week we will find out what the Lord has in store for me next transfer. It seems like he likes to try me so we will have to see what kind of adventure he wants to put me on now. I hope a hard one, haha I love pushing my self behold my limits now. I guess that is what President has taught me. He is truly an inspired person, I cannot wait to hear from him this week.

Well time is going by just way to fast, in no time at all I will be talking with you on the phone. I love you all keep the Lord close to you in all that you do, and you will be able to make mountains move, because you are all the most wonder fullest family ever.

Pictures! - 10/3/11

Dear Family,

I hope I can send these pictures to you on your phone.

Here are some pictures, the first one is the fruits of my labor haha my
trainee and I, with Mumta, Latchme, and Nazeema. It was a remarkable
experience. Then here we are doing some more service, (tilling up the land)
and the last one is me drinking some coconut water.

Nazeema did not get married so we did not have a baptism this week, but it
was still a good week. We really worked hard, and were able to find some
success we found some really prepared men, we hope we can see get baptized
soon. The only problem, and trial we are facing is it seems like no one is
married down here. Almost all of our new investigators are living with
someone and are not legally married, so it kind of slows us down.

General Conference was pretty amazing. It is really different as a
missionary. Or maybe I just did not pay much attention in the past, either
way it was amazing, the bad that came with it was a late night and not much
missionary work was done. We are two hours behind you so priesthood went
from eight to ten, and we ended up not getting home tell eleven thirty,
twelve. It was late, but so worth it!

Well, It seems like everything is going good up there and everyone is having
fun, it still blows my mind that it is already fall! ha I am so thankful for
all the pictures Britt, and you sent, they were good.

All is well here I love you all, keep being the most amazing family ever,

Love Elder Hartshorn
