Transfers Already?! - 7/25/11

Dear Family,

WOW! a transfer has already went by. Thats CRAZY. It seems like I have only
been out a few days. I am on a new twelve week training program, so I am
going to be here in East Coast another six weeks with Elder Khan. East Coast
is the Suburbs of George Town I guess. It takes us about a twenty minute bus
ride to get into down town area. I like it in East Coast because we get a
nice breeze of the ocean. sometimes it just makes me want to lay down and
relax haha. I am excited about the Work that we have planned for this
Transfer. I have a sweet story about this young man we are teaching, who is
going to be baptized this Saturday. Oh and Monica is twelve.

We entered into this house of a less active member who we had never met
before, and to our surprise he had a Brother who never had been Baptized. So
we started to teach this less active his wife and his brother, Javet is his
name. As we were teaching about the Restoration and about Joseph Smith He
turned to us and told us that he just felt different when we taught him an
knew it was true. He is solid I am Excited for his baptism.

Well I am Eating a lot again, so thats good I guess. Please send pictures
and Tell Elder Dustin I love him if you get the chance. Also tell everyone
Hi and I am doing great.

I love being a Missionary, and I love Guyana. If you want Mom you could read
Helaman 5:12 it is a good one.

Always Has a Smile on His Face - 7/18/11

Dear Family,

Well I got a hair cut!! I wanted it short... but not that short. We also had The baptism of Angolita. She is a cool young girl we had the oppertunity to teach. Also my trainer turned 19! What the! isnt your trainer supposed to be older then you. I gave him your e mail so he will send you a e mail. Probably describe things better then me. The other picture is me at the Branch fish fry. and the other is one when we are teaching a less active on the floor with all their stuff pilled around us.

It is very hard to find time to write everyone so if you dont get a letter for awhile I am sorry. The bus was barely moving haha it didnt hurt at all I am sorry I should not of said I got hit by a bus. It is still hot here and humid, but suprisingly enough I am getting used to it, although I weighted my self at a members house last night and I lost 18 pounds! Lets see I have stories Like Malinda almost everyday it seems like I just cant remember any right now they seem normal now. haha

I have been studying scriptures out of the book of mormon. They have a list of 50 scriptures that build your testimony of The Book of Mormon. I have memorized about half of them this week. I know I have only been able to do this because of the Lords help. When I try an memorize on without praying I simply can not do it. I know that prayer is so important and can help us through anything. I have been able to see this on my mission of how prayers really are anwsered. Also how the with and only through the Lords help we can really do anything.

I get Granmas mail. I love getting mail. I wish I could write everyone back but our time is limitted for that. I will send a good e mail with some funny stories next week I will have to sit down and think of a few. Well got to go Love you all.

Noodles and Hamburger - July 11 Email

Dear Family,

This was another awesome week in the sweet land of Guyana! I have finally somewhat adjusted to it down here, and am starting to love the work, also the people! They have so little, yet they always offer us things like Coke and fruit and other bought goods, they can not cook for us in Guyana, but they wish they could they are so loving. so we normaly cook or buy food. We eat a lot of noodles and hamburger just because it is easy to cook. We also eat a lot of fish and chips they are heavenly! A less active member we work with all the time Brother Pitamber, catches fish for a living so we are going to buy some fresh fish from him tonight. The Pitamber Family is awesome I will have to get a picture of them to send you next week. The locals love curry though, its alright nothing too special. Lots of rice and stuff like that. Oh yeah lots of wounderful fruit!

There are no mountains here in Guyana, its flat as can be. I am thankful for that. My feet are doing great healing up good, I didnt send that picture to worry you sorry.  Are Branch is Kinda small but they do everything, we even invite them to do the baptisms, to really make our investigators feel welcomed into thebranch, so we just have to make sure the Branch Presidency does everything right, because they are brand new and havent recieved much training. So it is a little differant then our ward at home.

Well I better get, I love you all and am doing great! We didnt have any baptisms the last two weeks but we have one this week, so I am excited for that. I still have so much to learn though, sometimes I still struggle when I teach but I know the Lord is capable of doing all things if we show faith in him I am so lucky to be here and bein the service of God.

Running Like Mad - June 27 Email

Hello Everyone!

Guyana is a crazy place! Its awesome though. I wrote you a letter last week but we didnt have time to send it tell today, so sorry about that but it has a couple of funny stories in it about the people and our crazy bus rides! I havent gotten any mail yet so maybe it takes longer than a week to get here. I can get everything I need here they have everything, but most of their food is not as good haha besides the fruit. We only eat breakfast and lunch, and a think I have a worm or smething because I cant eat that much any more haha. I got sick Last week and totally lost my appatiate. I felt pretty down that day but things are starting to feel normal again.

we live in one of the nicest houses iv been in so far down here, but it is still a lot differant than home! We have to filter our water and stuff Its kinda like camping haha its wierd but I am getting used to it. The people are really nice for the most part, on the weekends most of them drink so it gets a little crazy sometimes! but almost all of them let us share our message with them they are real easy going people. I had kind of a hard time teaching this week. I feel so stupid sometimes, well most of the time but we had Zone conferance and that helped we talked about Ether 12, and our weeknesess you should read and discuss it tonight for family home evening. It is probably my favorite Chapter in the Book of Mormon. We had a Baptism this week, Sister Alice, And we are hoping for Weekly this Transfer. We can do it If we get our Investegators to church, so the work is good.

Well We dont do much on p-days besides shop and run around town, we have to go in to what they call town to e-mail and shop, its not town though its a huge city. Oh, Elder Khan is good, He doesnt walk though he RUNS everywhere. and we are on foot most of the day so when we get back to the house I am dead tired. He gets mad at me sometimes because I dont know hardly anything. but he is a really hard worker, I need to be more like him and I think thats why the Lord put me with him.

Well all is well here, I will let you know if I have a worm or not haha, I hope my letter gets to you this week! I love you all very much, and We dont get much Time to Write letters, so tell Grandma sorry if I cant get one to her and That I love her. Tell everyone hi for me. And It is so good to hear how everyone is,
