The Bush - 1/16/12

Dear Family,

How is everything going up there in the North? Elder peck is a good cook,
but we dont really have time to cook good food haha, We normally eat a lot
of Mac and cheese, Tuna fish, and PBandJ's. I am having a great time with
Elder Peck. He is from Carey Idaho.

The work is going pretty good we had a great sacrament meeting at church
yesterday lots of people were there that was awesome! and our Recent
Convert,Mark, recieved the Aronic Priesthood. The branch President here
does a good job at retaining people when they are baptized, so what more
can we ask for.

We had Zone conferance this week it was great there was a member from the
70 there, Elder Anderson. He was great he taught us that we need to teach
faith and that is our porpose. If we can teach faith so that they can feel
it. they will want to change by repenting and in order to fully repent we
have to make covenents with the Lord, so thats where baptism comes in to
play. If we can help them have more faith and show it we will see more
baptisms. it was great. I am trying to repent and teach people according to
their needs because that is how we help them gain more faith, is by
teaching them what they want/need to know more about.

I am sending some pictures of Marks baptism and zone conferance an the
"bush"

Well I love you all I hope all is well. I am so lucky to be a missionary!

Answers to Prayers - 1/9/11

Hello everyone,

I am on kinda a old school computer today so this might not be to well.

Transfers went pretty smoothly Elder Sappington came and picked me up and dropped me off in grove, which is still in Georgetown, it is what they call East Bank because it is on the east side of the Demerara River. I love the area though. The branch is probably one of the strongest branches in Guyana, so we have great members to help us. Elder Peck is the man, these last few days have reminded me a lot about when I was with Elder Khan. We Worked hard, we got 16 member lessons it was pretty cool. I dont get much sleep though, I call all the Elders in my District, and by the time I do that shower and write in my journal it is like 11, but that is ok, I love it. I wanted to send you some pictures but I might have to wait tell next week. We had a baptism, and do you remember how I wanted to baptize a male, well it was an 18 year old young man! It is kinda Crazy how the Lord works even if he has to transfer me he does answer prayers! Well I got to get but I love you all, and I love my new area!

Transfers!!! - 1/2/11

Hello Everyone,

Happy New year I hope it will be a good one!

President decided to end transfers a week early!! and yup I am getting the boot out of East Coast. I am going to miss it bad here The members are like family. Luckfully I get to stay in Guyana though. Iam moving to an area called Grove. It is still in Georgetown so my address will not change. I am really excited I have only heard great things about grove. My Companion will be Elder Peck! From my MTC group. It is going to be AWESOME! I have also been called to be the District Leader. Im a little nervous, but i need the challenges to help me learn. I found out I do not really learn much when I am not being Challenged. Elder Ward is staying here in East Coast with a mini missionary, it will be a good experience for him. It is still raining here a lot so I am guessing it is the rainy season. I was going to say that Nathan better have went ice fishing new years eve but it doesnt sound like he did. I hope the snow starts to come haha.

Well I hope all is going well there. Im not sure what else to say other then I love you all!
