Made it to the West Indies!

Dear family,

I made it to Guyana! I am on the East Coast. I dont have a lot of time so it will be hard to explain everything! But this place is CRAZY! It is very humble. We have sooo much. Anyways it is wounderful. There is so much work to be done here. My companion is Elder Khan, he is Guyanese. He is only 18 years old haha he teaches me so much though. he served a mini mission for6 months before he went full time. but he has now been on his full time mission for 9 months. I really need to learn to be more like him. Lets see... I serve right by the Ocean! but I havent seen it yet. they have a little block fence thing that guards it. so that kinda stinks. The people here are really nice, for the most part. I need to feel more of a love for them though I think. I dont know if I was shell shocked or what but it feels like I am just there. haha I dont know how to explain it, but I better go. I love you all so much! I hope all is well at home, and I hope you have a good week! miss you all tons!

Love Elder Hartshorn

P.S. 243 Cedar Courts Lamaha Gardens, George Town Guyana is my Adress oh yeah and remember not to send me any packages! thanks love you!

Email from June 7

Hello my dear sweet family,

This is going to be a busy week there is so much to do just to prepare to go. Shots to be be given, hiar to be cut clothes to be washed, suit to be cleaned, oh and teaching to be done. We are always so busy. It is sooo good though helps me remember my porpose as a missionary, and it is not even my time so it is good to be busy. Me and my comp. have a differant teaching schedule as the rest of our district so we it seems like we are teaching in the trc twice as much. I know that these are just practice but I love teaching. me and Elder Wilson just focus on brining in the spirit and we teach really well together. We try to invite all of our investegators to be baptized on the first lesson and almost always they say... no. haha but we dont give up and they normally say yes by the second lesson. Anayway I love the feeling I get when I get out of a lesson when the spirit was there. It is such an amazing feeling that I have never felt before. I LOVE THE SPIRIT. and i love the MTC, but I am so excited to get out of these cubicals and get to the West Indies. We leave Monday morning at 4 a.m. and we have a three hour layover in Maimi so you might be getting a call from me sometime Monday afternoon. Man time has gone by so fast.

Sorry I missed your birthday mom! so happy birthday!!!! I will hopefully get your present sent off tomorrow. It is so good to here from everyone! I love it when I get mail it makes my day! I will have to work on writing everyone today, and explain a little more, about my MTC experience but it truely is an amazing place. I am so lucky to be able to go on a mission and serve the Lord with everything I have, I challenge all of you, to read the book of mormon and read it with a real intent, and try to relate it to your own personal life. I know when you do this it will give you much counsel, and bring you closer to our Heavenly Father.

I love you all so very much I am sorry I dont write much on here but I am a slow typer and we only have 30 minutes so I am Sorry. but I just want you to know that I love you, and pray for you everyday. I know that you guys will be blessed if you make the sacrifaces to come closer to the Lord, and putting your faith in him always, I know that doing this has blessed me and I promise you that it will bless you too. You are all so strong in the church and are great examples to me I love
