Well hello everyone!
Here are some pictures, of the Ocean clear and blue right? haha also of this house that we found going house to house finding "Thou shall not worship Idols." Also a picture of me getting my level one passede off. [Sorry, the pictures didn't come through]
Everything has been good here. Last week you cursed us because we had a lot of rain and had to stay in for a couple of hours. but when the rain settled down a little we put on our rubber boots grabbed the unbrella and headed out. That is crazy to think that there was a huricane in the states. I seriusly do not here any news. I guess that is ok though. I hope everything is good there. This transfer went by way fast but I guess thats good though. I am excited for a little change, even though I will probably stay right here in East Coast, Guyana.
This week we had zone conferce. It was good The area 70 came President Vinas. It was good. He talked to us about the Atonement. After studying it for the last couple weeks and hearing him there is one thing that I came to know of that is we can not no way possible have the Holy Ghost with us if we are not in the Proccess of repenting. And with out the Holy Ghost we are nothing, are spirits are dead. So that is my invitation to you all today is to REPENT. I know it will help you grow closer to God.
Anyways I love you all so much! I miss the mountains and the valley but I do Love it here.

Staying Busy - 8/22/11
Hello Everybody,
Well I tried to send some pictures but it would not let me for some reason. Oh well they are not very cool this week. We have been running three time a week in the morning so I had some cool pictures of the sun rising over the Atlantic Ocean. That is about it.
I recieved your letters they were good I had time to write you one this morning so I hope I can get it off today. You will have to tell everyone to write me because the only adress I have is Chads. It sounds like he is doing well. I can not believe school is already starting back up. It seems like I just left. There is only two more weeks left in the transfer... then I am with out Elder Khan! I hope I can do it. I know I can. I hope I stay around Georgetown somewhere. I will probably stay in East Coast. That would be cool!
It sounds like everyone is staying busy! that is good! That is one thing I do not miss at all is changing stupid garbages! haha that is good that the stores are staying busy... or is it just you two staying busy. Oh we found a sweet new investigator who is a seamstress! I took her some of my big pants and she did a good job at making them fit so that was nice. She is cool her name is Nazeema Khan. A big fat lady, with a sweet heart.
We are staying busy, and kind of wore out trying to do all the missionary work here. That is one nice thing is planning is really easy because there are so many people to see. There is just not enough hoursin the day to see everyone. We sure do try though.
Well I answerd some questions in my letter home so you will have to wait and get that haha hope it gets there before too long. Well it is about time for me to get off, I love you all
Love Elder Hartshorn
P.S. sorry Britt I was too scared to ask a rosta guy for a picture this week, but there are some crazy ones so maybe next week if I see a real good one.

Anything is Possible - 8/15/11
Hello Everybody,
I guess I received your letters... but I will get them tomorrow at zone meeting so I havent read them yet. I passed off my level one this last week. memorizing those 50 scriptures was part of being able to pass it off there are a few other things you have to memorize and do in order to pass it off, but I did it! It felt great! I know that anything is possible if you put your trust in the Lord.
Well the mud is dirt. They use mud like we would use dirt. And are water comes from a tank, and out the sink, but we do have to filter it and what not. We drink lots of water... I am excited to get your pictures and letters tomorrow. It is always awesome to get news from home.
We had a great good week. It was really hot so it made me kind of tired. We found A sweet new Family to teach. His name is Amo, He is really funny, because he loves America and is always talking about America. He is really prepared for the gospel. I love teaching and watching people progress, this is a very rewarding work. I love it.
This is kind of random but.. Did I tell you that Guyana has one of the best... probably the best pineapples on the earth. We shop in markets, kind of like how they did in the Jerusalem ha but its way cheap Bananas are like 3 pounds for one U.S. dollar. Oh and 1000 dollars here is 5 U.S. dollar its sweet. Well I better go sorry for all the random stuff and everything.
Well I am thankful for you all, you are the best family ever. Keep strong in the gospel and everything else will fallow.
Love Elder Hartshorn
P.S. do you get Elder Khans emails?

Strengthening Testimonies - 8/8/11
Dear Family,
Here are some pictures. Throwing mud, a new investigator showing us what he does for a living. you dont see too many of those in Idaho. He offered to feed us some of one... too bad we cant eat at members... haha. oh! and we have little portable DVD players to help us in our training program, This is a pretty cool movie so I took a picture of it.
I am replying to the wrong e mail. I havent read yours yet, and am to scared that all this work will be deleted if I go back to look at it. So I am sorry if some of your questions dont get answered. This week was a very interesting week, first I had to go with a brand new missionary. It was very weird being the most experienced one. Also made me look back and see how much I have really grown in just two months. I remember when I first got here I did not know much, well I still dont know much. What I did know I was able to build apon. Now I truly know with all my heart that that Jesus Christ really did die for all of us, and has been through every little thing that we go through, and when he was on this earth he had a church or established his gospel. Today that same gospel and church is back on the earth today. With that same power that Christ gave to his disciples. How lucky are we that we can have those blessing that come from this in our lives. The knowledge that we have that are families can be together forever in the highest level of the Celesterial Kingdom how great is that. I do miss going to the temple. I wish we had one here. Maybe if we work hard enough then there will be one soon. This week we also went on exchanges with the ap's I was a little scared at first That fear soon left me. I went with Elder Helms he is a great missionary. I learned so much from him and felt the spirit throughout the day as we worked. It was a good experience that I am glad i got to have.
Well I have to get I love you all,
Love Elder Hartshorn J.

Serving the Lord - 8/1/11
Dear Family,
This week has been really fast we did have some service, it was good. Mowing lawns with the cut las, I am going to have to mow our lawn like that when I get home, It was FUN. Also we did a project today moving some mud. We are finding ways to help the less active members and it is by doing service for them.
I am glad you finally received my letters. That seems like it took a good Month to get there haha. I am sorry they are kinda weird. I wrote them when I was thinking about home and not the work.
We do have a lot of work to do so that helps me to get lost in the work. Our baptism this week with that sweet young man Javet fell through, Kind of stinks but we are going to continue to work with him.
That address is the senior couples home, or mission office one of the two, we live about twenty minutes by bus away from them. You are the only ones I get mail from and Grandma she write steady it is good to hear from everyone. it takes only about a week for me to get your letters, but for mine it takes a little longer I guess. I will have to write you a good letter and really explain good how everything is down here. I am so used to it now, I am really surprised because I did not think that was going to happen but it did, and I love it. Tomorrow Elder Khan and the District leader is going to training, So I have to go with a brand new missionary whose been out for less then a week. So that will be fun, see how good I know the area, haha. well I love you all continue to keep me updated on everything.
Love Elder Hartshorn
p.s. sorry about the short e mails it seems like our time is so limited on here.
